Updates

If you knew me you would know that I get into these weird project modes.  I'll come up with some random project I feel like doing and work on that until I've completed the project or get bored with it.  One of the projects that I keep coming back to is creating a catalog of all the DVDs that I own.  I can never completely decide on how I want to go about it.  I start it one way and then change my mind.  And it doesn't help that I have a massive collection so it takes a very long time to work on.
Last year I created two slideshow DVDs.  One had photos from my life and the other had photos from my brother's life.  It was a rushed project so it wasn't completed to my satisfaction.  So a few days ago I decided I was going to re-do that project and actually take the time to make it what I want.  I'm going to make one that features photos from my entire life with songs that are my favorites.  Then I decided to make a second one featuring photos from my 2009 trip to Italy and France.  I've almost completely decided that the music featured on that DVD will be selections from my favorite film scores.  To some it may seem like a waste of time, especially considering I've already made one but I love looking through old photos and reminiscing about old times.  This makes it so much easier to do that.

On another note... I've been attempting to downsize my DVD collection.  I've been in the process of listing certain things on Amazon and am also planning on taking whatever doesn't sell there at some used shops nearby.  So far I've done pretty well on Amazon.  I've sold 13 items and made a decent amount of money.  Of course, considering how many I have that's not much of a downsize so far.  But it's a start at least.

Anyways...
There has been a lot of excitement in my neck of the woods.  There has been some major flooding due to heavy rainfall within 2 days.  Luckily my house isn't near the river that runs through our town so we weren't really affected.  So many homes and businesses were ruined though.  My favorite restaurant was completely flooded.  It's so sad.  This came out of nowhere.  Friday and Saturday I went downtown to check out the damage and to take photos.  Late Friday night the National Guard was sent to help out with the disaster.  Considering the damage done to other towns though, our town is fairly lucky.  Here are a few photos of the flooded river.
